![]() ShockWave (more interesting because you have 4x3 factions but is not being developed currently, but should get better soon 1.2 version)Īfter playing ShW and RotR all other mods fall behind.īut then when it comes to single player, and vs computer play. Rise of the Reds (its under dev, so only 5 factions, but more balanced, a large community, and has its own server) swr.netĢ. The best mods are the ones that are being developed for multiplayer balance. not very accurate pollīut I guess its "FUN" if that is what is intended hereĭepends on how many ppl play pvp vs pvc. At least it resolves the crashes when al-tabbing out of the game, nice! Just delete the d3d8.dll file you place in the Zero Hour install directory when you encounter new problems like crashes.I would say this is kinda accurate when it comes to pvcįor us multiplayer players. But it should lead to the game being generally more stable. Warning: I didn't fully test it, so there could be visual bugs or crashes when you use this. But if you don't use Gentool at all, you could also download the d3d8.dll ( ), put it in the Zero Hour install folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour" probably) and try to see if that might fix any of your problems. I also looked into the d3d8to9-wrapper for some hours this week, which convert the old DirectX 8.1-API-calls to DirectX 9-API calls, but it doesn't seem to work nicely with Gentool only when you have Gentool installed, you can encounter a soft lock/crash of the game while trying to load a skirmish match. ![]() As Gentool makes Generals better compatible with modern Windows OS and applies fixes directly into the game itself.īy the way, next time please answer all the questions when people ask them so we can help you much better and faster :) I don't think it will fix your mismatches, but it might fix some of the serious errors. So if someone is out there who can play large 8 player games over lan with no issues for hours on end then please take the time to help me. I have tried pretty much every forum solution and YouTube tutorial from the options.Ini thing up to using multiple copies of the game, I have even tried to contact EA on multiple times and I have never found a solid solution, I have found temp ones but they usually stop working, I have even offered to pay for someone to give professional tech help, This error occurs usually about 30 mins into the game and at random times Issue 2- The game has detected a mismatch Etc,Etc This error occurs roughly about an hour in to a game or when we spend a long period of time in a game (usually 8 player hard armies game) Serious errors can be caused by many things including viruses, overheated hardware and hardware that does not meet the minimum specifications for the game. Issue 1- "You have encountered a serious error. ![]() ![]() So I have played command and conquer once I was a little boy, I have always supported it and I have every game and DLC, but my favourite one of all time for me and my friends is Generals Zero Hour but for as long as I can remember I have had 2 MAJOR issues with the game. Hey community I am posting on here as a last ditch attempt to see if it's time to give up or of there is hope.
